The search giant said Tuesday that it will pay $102 million in cash for DMarc Broadcasting , a Newport Beach, Calif., company that works with radio advertisers in the sales, scheduling, delivery and reporting of radio ads.
The deal calls for Google to make additional cash payments based on product integration, net revenue and advertising inventory targets. Those payments could total $1.13 billion over the next three years, Google said.
Google plans to integrate DMarc technology into its AdWords platform, creating a new radio ad distribution channel for Google advertisers.
"Google is committed to exploring new ways to extend targeted, measurable advertising to other forms of media," Tim Armstrong, Google's vice president of advertising sales, said in a release.
The Mountain View, Calif.-based search company has been expanding its advertising business beyond the Internet, branching out into print ads and possibly into television.
Google's stock climbed $1.23 to $467.48 a share Tuesday, and analysts were pleased with the company's new buy.

Abuses of police powerBuenos Aires provincial police, the notorious Bonaerense, are once again under scrutiny, for their treatment of Gabriel Roser, a political activist. Critics claim that Mr Roser was singled out for mistreatment by the police because of his politics. Even though he had no criminal record, he featured in a book of police mugshots, from which he was identified by prosecution witnesses in an armed robbery case.
In early December he was released from prison, where he had spent almost 20 months despite bearing little resemblance to the initial description of the criminal and numerous inconsistencies in the witnesses' testimony. The case against him ultimately fell apart, and the prosecutors withdrew their case before the trial had ended.

Cops: California woman bedded 15-year-old, plied him with drugs
DECEMBER 23--Meet Genevieve Elise Silva. The 20-year-old California woman, who stars in porno movies sold online, is being sought by police for having sex with a 15-year-old boy whom she also allegedly provided Ecstasy, pot, and speed. According to police, Silva met the boy through her younger brother, who was a high school friend of the alleged victim. Richmond Police Department investigators claim that Silva carried on an illicit relationship with the teenager between June and October of this year. She also allegedly convinced the teenager to run away from his Bay Area home and move with her to Oklahoma. A $10,000 felony arrest warrant charges Silva with unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor and rape. She is pictured below in a California driver's license photo. On a pornographic web site advertising her videos, Silva (who goes by just "Elise" professionally) is described as a "progressive music lover who plays the bass guitar in a garage band when she's not thinking about sex--which is about 20 minutes per day!" The bio also notes she is "multi-orgasmic" and a "deep throat lover." Silva is pictured at right in a photo from the XXX web site. (1 page)
